Movies and Power Point

I am curious, what do you think about the use of movie clips in the sermons I have preached lately? I love movies and think they help to prove a point, what do you think? You can post anonymously if you like, but I would really love to hear from you. In addition, do power point presentations add or detract from the message?

This is your chance to weigh in, please do. If you got to this blog by accident I would love to hear from you too!

Blessings

I love the movie segments and the power point keeps me on track with you. I love it!

I think the Just do It at beginning is powerful---anticipation of the message to follow. Some of the movie clips added to the message and several were hard to understand how they fit in.
I really like your use of the Powerpoint and your cool new toy.
Sometimes you need to slow down a bit.

Hey: Dude it's me, Ricky Benton, I don't know how to use this machine. I was just trying to let you know I can help with the pool table. I will say that I enjoy the sermons and the way you present them through the use of your powerpoint and movie clips. I hope you get this. Help I'm lost in cyberspace.

I love your tech usage and I am literally on the edge of my seat to see what you're going to present next. I love the powerpoint stuff. It's been well done.
I wonder if your clips are reaching all audiences. They kind of take away from your preaching because we are wondering what the heck the movie has to do with what you're going to say. I want this to sound constructive: the shorter the clip, the better.
But you're right on target. Glad you're with us.

Do you think that God wants us to have a "Blind faith" or did He leave clues behind for us to find? I think to follow anything blindly is foolish. As I have been studying for my classes lately I have noticed, God has left a ton of clues behind for us to discover.

Take his resurrection for example, if he didn't get out of the tomb by rising from the dead, how did it happen? The disciples? Too scared! The authorities? They didn't want him to become a "God" so why would they have taken the body. Jesus didn't die? He was beaten almost to death and was pierced in the side. No, I conclude He did rise from the dead.

What do you think?

I like the Powerpoint you use. One suggestion, put the type in larger print for those of us that can't see across the church without the use of binoculars. Please slow down a little so we can take notes. Otherwise dude, keep on doing what you are doing.
